Sheikh yusuf

Sheikh Yusuf is currently working with the Department of Civil Engineering, Kaduna Polytechnic Kaduna, Nigeria as a Chief Lecturer. Also, he is a Doctorate Researcher with the Department of Civil Engineering University of Nigeria,Nsukka, Nigeria.The part of my studies which has a very much relation with the books I wrote on Palestine is my studies at Loughborough University in Leicestershire in England. As a student, I had the opportunity to be an Excomember of the Islamic Society in the University. That gave me the opportunity to interact with students from Palestine and other countries from Middle East. Not only that, I had the opportunity to interact with many Islamic Scholars that were invited as Speakers in our programmes. Also, I had the opportunity to attend manyIslamic conferences in various institutions in U.K, either in a group or representing the Loughborough Islamic Society. All these were in the late eightieth and early ninetieth. In those days most topics of Islamic gatherings are the Palestinian Occupation and the Afghanistan war with Russia. Those exposures widen my knowledge on many issues especially the Palestinian Occupation and Resistance. In fact I had the opportunity to participate in a rally at Hyde Park in London in support of creation of HAMAS. It is through the Palestinians, I had the opportunity to get details of the suffering of the Palestinians in the Occupied Territories, the difficulties they passed before they get visa to study abroad and the difficulties they are facing whenever they want to get a facility that need the presentation of a travelling Passport. This is because Palestinians are denied travelling passport; therefore if they have to travel abroad, they are given travelling documents from another country, through the support of Palestinian Liberation Organization (PLO). Therefore my interaction with the Palestinians and other Muslims from the Gulf Countries and participating in theactivities of Islamic Society gave me a good idea of the struggle of Palestinians to resist the Zionists’ illegal occupation and because of their determination they have been doing that generation after generation for more than seventy years.

As a person who is in the academics, I have written books that one hundred and four hundred levels students in my department are using. This is apart from Engineering Conference papers and Journals, including International Journals I
wrote from my P.hD research. Right now, I am working on how to reduce the menace of flooding which is reoccurring on yearly basis, especially in Northern parts of Nigeria, with very devastating consequences. I am specially working on
Muskingum Equation for Routing flood water. Also, I am working on how to improve the compressive strength of sandcrete blocks that are used for building construction. The research work is aiming at coming up with ways to reduce
collapse of buildings that are rampant in our country. Apart from that, I have also written Islamic books like KALIMATUSH
SHAHADA: KEY TO PRADISE and WHY YOU SHOULD BE A MUSLIM. This second book was published by Lambert Academic Publishers in Germany and right now its second edition is about to be published locally.
Apart from writing of books, as an Engineer, I have been involved in Consultancy services and Construction works. The major consultancy work I participated was the National Water and Roads Rehabilitation Projects executed by the former
Petroleum Trust Fund (PTF).
